Whenever we go to the fruit markets we commonly see mangos, apples, bananas, melons, pineapples pears, grapes etc but have you even seen a young may, the durian, Pitaya or a Dragon Fruit, Jackfruit, or Mangosteen? No, yeah I know you haven’t seen any of these as they are some incredible fruits available in some areas around the globe.
Young may is a sweet and unique fruit. It has a mixed taste, half sour and half sweet. It looks like cherry with a pit in the middle but this fruits is much juicier than berries with a unique taste. This is a seasonal fruit and doesn’t rotten quickly after it is picked. It is only provided in the late May and early June so mostly it is preserved down for other month availability.
Pitaya or dragon fruit is a brightly colored fruit and is unique in its appearance. Usually found in dry tropical climates. Its weight is varies from 150 to 600g. It has some edible seeds in it. Its pulp color varies from the shades of white to red. It is also used in some drugs made for blood circulation.
Jackfruit is one of the fruits of Hainan Island. This fruit is large, and has a pungent odor but a very sweet taste. Jackfruit is also a major cash crop for the villages on the coast of south china. It directly grows from the stem of the jacktree.
The durian is fruit belongs to a large family which includes hibiscus cotton and mallows. It has a unique odor and a thorn covered husk. It looks like a pineapple in shape. It is a very nutritious fruit and sweet in taste. This fruit is also called as the king of all fruits.
Mangosteen is an incredible fruit with a sweet and creamy edible flesh. This fruit is also known as the queen of all fruits. It has citrusy and peach like flavor. It is rich in antioxidants. Which are beneficial for human body.
